It all started when the urologists from the AFP Medical Center organized a shootfest at the Fort Bonifacio Shooting Range through the leadership of Dr. Bernardo Cabatingan. This was held twice this year, the initial event was mostly participated by the consultants and residents of the AFPMC. Everyone enjoyed the activity, firing .45 caliber pistols and M-16 armalite rifles. This was supervised by a range officer and participants were supposed to follow a course of fire under time factor. We all went home satisfied with the hope that this can be repeated.
A few months later, Dr. Cabatingan again organized another shootfest activitity at the FB Shooting Range. We have invited other urologists from different hospital to participate in this activity and there are a number of shooters who came and participated. We all enjoyed the event and it was here that we planned and decided to organize the formation of the PUA Gun Glub. They unanimously asked me to start it rolling and they would give their support.
I started this by drafting the constitution and by-laws of the gun club for SEC registration, got all the requirements from the Firearms and Explosive Division, PNP and Philippine Practical Shooting Association. There is a need for an initial fifteen members to start the formation of the club and for it to be registered. An identified firing range has to be included also in the application.
This may still take long time to accomplish but we do plan to organize another shootfest activity,
maybe to coincide with our PUA Annual Convention.
